Juicy homemade burger with all the fixings
Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Form into 4 equal-sized patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
Heat a grill or pan over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheese to each patty and cover to melt.
Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, add lettuce, tomato, onion, the cooked patty with cheese, and ketchup. Top with the other bun half.
